Author's Note: Written for the Landmark Challenge at LawandOrder100. It has been a while, but I was missing Lennie and this seemed a good challenge in which to remember him. Because, sometimes, landmarks are in the eye of the beholder.

It was a dive. Nothing remarkable about it. Dark, dingy. It reeked of cigarette smoke. The mirror behind the myriad bottles of liquor was coated with a film that Windex would never remove. Taped to it were the curled edges of photographs. Pictures of patrons, some five, ten years old; faded, colorless. Candid shots, mainly. Moments in time captured on a flimsy piece of paper. Lost hours. Lost friends. At the end of the bar, Ed Green raised his glass, smiling sadly, in toast to the yellowed image of a man, his crooked grin as familiar to Ed as his own.
