The Sky is Falling

Serena Southerlyn wondered how it had happened. She shook her head slightly, as if the movement would open up clogged auditory pathways, or erase the memory of Jack's words, like shaking an Etch a Sketch.

Unlike Chicken Little, she knew that telling would do no good. The sky was falling, but it was no use alerting the king. He was the one who had pulled it down.
